How to get a Job By Michael Master

How to get a Job By Michael Master

Posted on 12 June 2011. Tags: America, ATLAH, Job, Master, Michael, Now, Save

www.saveamericanow.us.com

What does it take to get a job?  My daughter is a current job seeker.  It is hard to watch her.  It breaks my heart.

With unemployment more than 9% and underemployment more than 10%, it is hard for her to find a job that is something that she wants to do.

There are thousands of people applying for every job and for every grant.  So it takes more than being good at what you want to do to get a desired job.

Why is it so hard?

According to several financial periodicals, this is the slowest economic recovery since 1932.

Housing sales are low which affects lots of other industries like furniture and appliances etc.   And “new housing sales” are only one third of what they need to be to sustain the economy.  “New housing” is the key because it creates jobs through the construction supply chain and ancillary products like furniture and appliances.

Inflation for energy and food are high which sucks money out of the economy.  And the combination of unemployment and underemployment are very high (close to 20%) which reduces demand for products and creates too much competition for each job.

The federal deficit has increased from $160 Billion to $1.75 Trillion in just 30 months with no improvement to the economy because people with no business experience implemented it.

The little secret is that the most important statistic is not the unemployment number.  The most important statistic is the total disposable income of Americans.  70% of the economy is based on consumption … and disposable income is decreasing as wages fall and taxes increase which causes a squeeze on money available for consumption.  That leaves less money for folks to buy stuff.   So that squeeze eventually causes more unemployment.

The governments (federal and local) are playing a shell game.  While they have us focused on income taxes, they increase all kinds of other taxes like road tolls, gasoline taxes, taxes imbedded in programs like Obamacare, sales taxes, etc.

Employment increased in the the first quarter of 2011.  But 2 problems were hidden from the public as the administration wants us all to just focus on the increase in jobs.

1.  half of the new jobs are for minimum wages.   Employing 200,000 more people at McDonalds and Walmart does not replace the buying power lost from 200,000 unemployed manufacturing workers or 200,000 unemployed lawyers.  To trade a worker who earns $50 per hour for one who earns $10 per hour is insane .. but this government is trying to sell us that the economy is getting better because more people are employed even though those replacement jobs are for lots less money.

2.  jobs are not being created as fast as new workers are entering the work force.  Just to maintain the unemployment percent at its current level, 200,000 net new jobs are required each month.  To reduce the unemployment percent to less than 6% within the next 18 months, 400,000 net new jobs are required each month.   This administration has not come close to that yet in 2 1/2 years of trying and $1.75 trillion of deficits.    5% unemployment is considered to be full employment.  At 20% for unemployment and underemployment, we are very far from full employment.

Food prices are increasing from the increased costs of transportation and corn (ethanol increased the price of corn 100% in the last 6 months and corn is used to feed live stock and provide milk).  The increase to GDP is from inflation … not from product sales.    Increased prices are driving up the GDP, not increased product sales.  So even though this administration claimed “mission accomplished” because GDP increased,  … job creation is a failure.   And since the true inflation is more than the 2%,  the economy is actually shrinking in terms of net present value.   We are still in a recession.

As the government keeps pumping money into the economy and spending lots of it for more government,  that will only make things get worse.   Government actions destroy the will of the people.  It was like that in 1974.   By 1980, Carter drove unemployment to 12% and inflation to 16% with his big government spending before anyone noticed it.  It was hidden in how the numbers were calculated.   This current government is doing the same thing.   For the average family, inflation is close to 10% when food and gas are included.

The current actions of unions are exactly opposite of supply/demand economics.   And when an entity is forced to employ from unions, that exacerbates the economic problems for the employer and for the economy.   GM stock price has not increased because the bailout only temporarily held off the inevitable … unions cause companies to be uncompetitive in the world market.  While the liberals and the media have us all focused on Wisconsin for political reasons, two liberal states, Massach

Liars, Liars, Pants on Fire By Michael Master

Liars, Liars, Pants on Fire By Michael Master

Posted on 10 June 2011. Tags: America, Anthony, ATLAH, Bill, bloomberg, Charles, Clinton, Democrat, Hillary, Master, Michael, Now, obama, Party, Save, Weiner

www.saveamericanow.us.com

Tim Kaine, the previous chairman of the Democrat party, just stated that Weiner’s lies to the public are unforgivable. Even though the lies were about sex, how can anyone trust Weiner? Lies are the issue. Weiner needs to resign.

So what does that mean about Bill and Hillary Clinton? Bill lied to the public. Bill committed perjury. And Hillary was complicit. She even said that the claims about Bill’s infidelity were from a “vast right wing conspiracy.” So why didn’t Tim Kaine and other Democrats say that Bill needed to resign?

And what about Charlie Wrangle, William Jefferson, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, etc. The list of Democrats who lied to America in the last few years goes on and on and on.

Is Tim Kaine correct? Are lies to the public by these politicians unforgivable? So why do so many people continue to vote for these Democrat liars?

They vote for them because character is not as important to them as their political agenda. They vote for them because their hatred for conservatives is stronger than their hatred of sin. They vote for them because those voters want the “goodies” that these liberal politicians promise to give them. They vote for them because religion and race are more important than character.

These lying politicians are the very ones who cause addiction to government, who use class warfare, envy, coveting, to gain votes.

“Thou shalt not bear false witness.” “Thou shalt not covet.” “Thou shalt not steal.” Lying, coveting, redistribution of wealth are sins.

Both Michael Bloomberg and Eric Cantor, Republicans, stated that America should not get “messed up” up in this situation. They both stated that Weiner’s constituency should decide what to do about Weiner in this next election. Both Cantor and Bloomberg are Jews like Weiner. Did they put their Jewish ties ahead of what is good for America? A recent poll of people in Weiner’s New York district showed that a majority of them are Jewish and want Weiner to stay in his job.

Do Bloomberg and Cantor and the Weiner constituents understand that the majority of Americans cannot trust dishonest people to do good work for America even if they are of the same religion as seen recently in NY district 26. We cannot trust liars to put America first?

Teddy Roosevelt: “Character comes first.”

In a Democracy, we get what we deserve. Those Americans who continue to vote for these politicians who lack character are getting what they deserve. This recession is a product of compromised values. It is a product of the break down in morality and ethics in America.

A nation who covets and lies and takes from some to give to others is reaping what it sows. This recession is a product of Weiner morality. Race first. Religious group first. Character last.

This issue with Weiner presents us Americans an opportunity to look hard at what is important vs. what should be important. Character should come first. America should come first.

Unethical behavior starts from the top down. So now let’s look at Obama’s character. Let’s look hard at his associates like Ayers and Wright and Rezko and Jones and Wall Street and insurance companies. Let’s look hard at his claims in his books vs the truth. Let’s review his dual citizenship. Let’s inspect his college documents, his passports, and his state legislation to legalize infanticide. Let’s review his comments like “his Muslim faith.” Let’s inspect him like the media did not do in 2008. Let’s put character first. Let’s put America first.

Obama is a Disaster By Michael Master

Obama is a Disaster By Michael Master

Posted on 24 May 2011. Tags: America, ATLAH, Bailout, Barack, Big, business, Charles, disaster, Federal, governement, Healthcare, Hussein, Master, Michael, Now, obama, Reserve, Save

www.saveamericanow.us.com

Last week, USA Today stated that 485,000 workers had been terminated from the auto industry while only 67,000 had been rehired with the $85 Billion bailout from the government.

Some pundits and lots of the media are pointing to the fact that manufacturing is hiring again. Those media and pundits are feeding us more junk. They are looking at one little fact and ignoring the elephant in the room. The elephant is that the most successful of the auto makers is Ford who did not terminate many employees and did not take the bailout. Instead, Ford renegotiated union contracts and replaced many union workers with non-union employees. At $85 Billion for 67,000 rehires, that is more than $ 1 million per rehire for the auto bailouts at GM and Chrysler. More than $1 million per rehired worker is a horrible return on investment!

Other manufacturers like Boeing are being forced by the government to hire union employees, so many are moving even more manufacturing out of the USA.

And the costs for Obama’s programs continue to rise.

The CBO’s latest estimate is that Obamacare will cost Americans an additional $2.4 trillion over the next 10 years in hidden taxes and added healthcare costs. The only winners of Obamacare are the insurance companies and the government.

Politico reported today that the recovery from this recession is the slowest pace of any recovery since 1932 and that unemployment will remain high for at least the next 3 years. Even Obama is now saying that the unemployment problem will last much longer than anticipated. Polico points out that this administration has increased government spending at the twice the rate of any previous government in the history of the USA. Obama increased the deficit 10 times more than at any time previous to him.

Money Magazine for June, 2011 states on page 22 that the only reason that stock prices have risen is because interest rates have fallen to such low levels. It states in the first paragraph: “While stock investors have gained from the Federal Reserve’s efforts to hold down interest rates …. All that’s about to change.”

Gasoline prices and food prices increased at rates that are more than 100% on an annual basis. Those price increases had very little decrease to consumption which shows prices for food and energy to be inelastic. That inelasticity caused a money drain that reduced discretionary spending by consumers and hurt the economy. So as Obama continues to make ethanol from corn (which drives up the price of corn and any products that use corn like live stock and milk) and to limit oil drilling in the USA, the average Americans suffer from his actions.

Kiplinger Letter of May 20, 2011 states “Over the coming year or two … making investment choices will get tougher …. as the Federal Reserve raises interest rates …. stocks will no longer be the obvious winner.”

Kiplinger continues with “Europe’s financial worries are far from over… now headed into round two for Greece.”

And Kiplinger states: “Republicans could send Obama packing after one term.” … “A firestorm over an NLRB move … Boeing out of South Carolina … Business groups are livid.”

The National Real Estate Association estimates that the average home value has decreased about 35% since Obama took office and that it will decrease another 5 to 15% in the next year.

Some argue that Obama inherited this situation. Did he? He was part of Congress from 2005 to 2009. He was part of the Democrat contingency that protected Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He represented ACORN who intimidated banks into making so many loans to people who should not have gotten them.

Even if Obama inherited the situation, his record at solving it has been a disaster. Politico stated that this is the slowest rate of recovery for any recession since 1932.

The average American has lost value in home equity, suffered from hidden inflation, lost money in savings and 401 Ks, become underemployed, and suffered from wage stagnation.

It is clear that Obama hurt this economy … pandering to unions, printing money, pushing interest rates too low, deficit spending, expanding government, and implementing the same socialism that is killing Europe like with Obamacare while granting more than 1300 exemptions to Obamacare (including an exemption to AARP who was the biggest supporter of Obamacare).

If nothing else, Obama exacerbated the problems. Obama has been horrible for America. His economic plans are horrible. He polarized the country rather than unite it. And he is leading America in a socialist direction like in Europe rather than setting the pace for the world with capitalism.

And why? Because Obama lacks any executive experience or respect for capitalism that is required for the president of the USA.

Compare Obama to Cain, Pawlenty, Christie, Huntsman, Romney, or Trump who all have educations at least equal to Obama in business and economics and have executive experiences that make Obama look woefully inadequate.

Obama has been a horrible experiment in affirmative action that has cost America a tremendous amount to the economy and to unity.

We need to reverse course from Obama to save America now!

The Economy is still in Trouble By Michael Master

The Economy is still in Trouble By Michael Master

Posted on 13 April 2011. Tags: America, ATLAH, Barack, David, Hussein, James, Manning, Master, Michael, obama, Save

www.saveamericanow.us.com

Just when the Obama administration thought that they could start to claim victory about the economy, it seems to be headed in the wrong direction again.

The Kiplinger Letter of April 8, 2011 made these comments:

“Though US exports continue to grow …. the nation’s share of global trade is waning… In 2000, 35% of the world imports and exports originated or landed in the US. This year’s share: about 11%. … While law makers in the USA dally … Other countries are racking up trade deals.”

Let me add that if the USA grew exports by 100%, that would only take us to 22% which would still be a far cry from 35% in 2000. Also, the world competitors are not about to allow the USA to grow 100%. They will adjust.

So who are those law makers who dally? Democrats were in control of Congress from the end of 2006 until 2011 and are still in control of the Senate, the State Department, and the White House.

From Kiplinger: “US economic prowess … China overtakes it in 2020…. GDP growth in the US appears to be slowing… 1.5% if exports drag … on the heels of a 3.1% uptick during the final 3 months of 2010.”

So why is this happening?

GDP growth in the last quarter of 2010 was an aberration. Even at 3.1%, it was not the 5% minimum needed to come out of this economic slump. 3.1% is much less than the traditional minimum of 10% that followed most other recessions. The 3.1% was artificially created by government spending. So now we are paying a price for not curing the root causes to our economic problems.

What are those root causes? Soaring oil prices. Costs to Implement Obamacare. Uncompetitive pricing of US products because of high labor rates and roll up of taxes throughout the manufacturing supply chain. Only one quarter of the engineers per capita as in the countries with growing export business. A birth rate too low to sustain the distribution of consumers and workers in our society. Too much dependence on immigrants to fill low paying jobs.

Many Americans miss this point: there is no amount of service revenues that can offset the loss to the economy from a diminished manufacturing industry. The multiplier effect from manufacturing is 15 times greater than from service industries. And the USA has reduced the impact of manufacturing on the GDP by more than two thirds in the last 40 years. Service industries have grown while manufacturing has shrunk which is the exact opposite of a thriving economy.

What does the USA have to export? Lawyers? Accountants? Government bureaucrats? Sociologists? Bankers?

Who wants them? No one. No one will trade their manufactured goods for services from these “professional” industries.

The Obama administration is trying to convince us that the USA can replace the lost consumption from the low birth rate in the USA with more product exports. China, Korea, Brazil, Germany, and all the others will react to increased competition from the USA. Those competitors make better products at lower prices. They will not give up any of the advantages that they gained while the USA let costs get out of hand. If the USA tries to get more competitive, then those other countries will react by getting more competitive also.

So what can the USA do?

1. Get this current group of liberal arts intellectuals out of our government and put some street wise business people in charge who will cut the effects of unions, cut the corporate taxes that are rolled up in the end products, and increase the amount of engineers graduating from our universities.

2. Breed. Make more internal consumers and workers so immigration is not necessary and so exports are not as necessary.

3. Drill for oil and build more nuclear sites and dig for more coal.

4. Reduce spending by our government on services because that adds very little to the multiplier effect for our economy. And put the money in the hands of the private sector because it consumes manufactured products with much greater multiplier effects.

Jamaica By Michael Master

Jamaica By Michael Master

Posted on 31 March 2011. Tags: America, ATLAH, Jamaica, Master, Michael, Patrick, Save, St

Many of our friends have asked us about our trip to Jamaica, so this is a recap.

We just spent five weeks working with Monsignor Albert and his team in Kingston, Jamaica at St. Patrick’s Foundation. Of the five weeks, we did get to go to Ocho Rios one day and to Strawberry Hill another day. Both are beautiful. The car ride to Ocho Rios was through the rain forest. That trip through the rain forest was most intriguing. The roots of the trees grow out of the ground about 20 feet high like huge statues and the canopy of leaves gives everything a green tone. Even the river reflects the green as it appears to have an emerald color.

This trip all started because of a conversation with Monsignor Albert, founder, and Mark McKenzie, Chairman, at Jamaica Night at St. Luke’s Catholic Church last November. They explained the help that is needed for the people in Jamaica. We called them in December about going to help them and by February 19 we were on our way for five weeks of work, fun, tears, smiles, and lots of new friends.

St. Patrick’s is famous in Jamaica. The Monsignor is famous in Jamaica. Of the four million people who live in Jamaica, most all know who “the Monsignor” is and what St. Patrick’s does.

You can learn more by going to this web site: www.stpatricksfoundation.org. You will learn a lot by just clicking on the 13 minute video done by “60 Minutes” about Monsignor Albert. Then you can click on the individual centers to learn what each center does.

There is so much to say about St. Patrick’s that it is impossible to put it into one article. St. Patrick’s is helping the most disadvantaged people in the world. The most poor in the USA live better than the average person in Jamaica. By Jamaica standards, there are no poor people in the USA.

St. Patrick’s cares for 1500 children from homes that would be condemned in the USA and for 40 adults who were abandoned by society to die because of leprosy, AIDS, elephantiasis, cholera, blindness, and just plain old age. Some homes are build from tin, others from cardboard, some from discarded shipping pallets, and some of poured concrete. Many are without any running water or plumbing.

We wondered what we would have to offer in this setting. And it ended up that we could do a lot to help.

First: they need money. Every dollar that is sent to St. Patrick’s goes to good use for books, computers, supplies, tools for wood shop and cosmetology, and food. For many of the children, the meal provided by St. Patrick’s is the only meal that they get all day. To teach 1500 students and to care for 40 patients requires $70,000 per month (only $45/each). St. Patrick’s is the type of group who needs our charity rather than send money to foreign dictators, Planned Parenthood, NPR, GM, unions, banks, and all those groups who lobby our politicians.

Marcia runs the foundation HQ. Junior runs Riverton for the children between 3 and 6. Pauline runs the skills center. Suzanne runs the teaching center for remedial children. And Joy runs the nursing home for the abandoned. They are all true professionals. They love their work, the children, and the abandoned. They get paid so very little for what they do, especially when compared to teachers in the USA. They do it “to make a difference.”

A sign at one of the centers reads: “Skill is power.” We Americans have been led to believe that knowledge is power because we live in a society of lobbyists and lawyers and journalists. We forget that America was built by the people who did stuff. Entrepreneurs, factory workers, engineers, doctors, and farmers. Well, St. Patrick’s is helping children learn to do stuff. “Skill is power.” The students learn to cut hair, to work computers, to do wood working, to answer telephones, to read, to multiply, to do engineering, to worship God and Jesus, and to cook. When the children leave the program, they get jobs as beauticians, help desk operators, carpenters, cooks, receptionists, secretaries, and electricians. And that is the objective of St. Patrick’s: “to teach these new members of society to take care of themselves.”

One of the items that St. Patrick’s believes is necessary to survive in life is faith in God and Jesus. At each school, all students participate in the morning devotion, in prayer, and in learning the word of God. Wasn’t that what our own founding fathers also believed? The children learn that abortion is wrong, that coveting is wrong, that theft is wrong, and that marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman. It was refreshing to watch all of it.

So how did we help? Teaching how to speak Spanish. Teaching how to read, write, and do arithmetic (the young children are doing math and reading by the time they are 5 years old). Teaching how to use Power Point, Word, and Excel. Helping high school students learn how to interview. Helping install computer systems. Helping build a new library. Reading to the elderly. Holding the hands of ones who may soon die. There was a lot to do.

We are glad to be home with our friends in the USA. But we also miss our new friends in Jamaica. They reminded us of what America once was before we in America got the “entitlement” disease. Jamaicans accept responsibility for their own lives. The people in Jamaica appreciate everything that we can do for them.

The people in Jamaica gave us much more than we could ever return to them.

A sign in the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kingston reads: “John 5:36: Doing the work of the one who sent me.” Monsignor Albert and his staff are doing the work of the one who sent them.

Some about our experience in Jamaica is included in “Rules for Conservatives.” You can check it out at www.saveamericanow.us.com.

Obama, RINOs, and the Media are Destroying America By Michael Master

Obama, RINOs, and the Media are Destroying America By Michael Master

Boehner, Cantor, and McCarthy met with Obama on February 9, 2011.   Joe Biden was there and so was Bill Daily (to provide a little Chicago strong arm?).  After the meeting, they were all grins and said that they are looking for common ground to cut expenses from the budget.

The Republican leaders think that their deal with Obama to cut $100 Billion from the current budget is a big deal.   It is less than 3% of the current budget and less than 7% of the deficit.   The Republican leadership failed and the new Tea Party Republicans are angry about it.

Obama is on every TV station every day.   The media is selling him again.  McCain announced last week after meeting with Obama that Obama is becoming a centrist.  Like he did in the 2008 elections, McCain is also selling Obama again.  And Bill O’Reilly interviewed Obama just before the Super Bowl and never asked Obama one tough question.  Even conservative media like O’Reilly are selling Obama again.

Hey Bill, why didn’t you ask Obama these questions?

“Why are you not being transparent to America by sharing your college documents, your passports, and your long form birth certificate?”

“What is it that gives you the authority to tell Mubarak, the head of a sovereign nation, to step down?”

“How do think that future generations will ever pay back the debt that you created?”

“How is it that you claim that taxes have not been increased and that Obamacare is deficit neutral when the OMB now says that Obamacare will increase the debt by one trillion dollars if the taxes in the legislation are not implemented?”

Obama has failed continually for the last two years.  His administration is dysfunctional.  His policies have divided America rather than unite America.  His czars are unconstitutional.  His appointments like Van Jones are horrible.  Obamacare could be unconstitutional because of mandatory insurance.  He did not keep unemployment under 8% as he promised.   He did not withdraw from Iraq or close Gitmo in the time frames that he promised.  Iran and North Korea are more of threats today than they were two years ago.  He supports the efforts of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.  The deficit was increased by more than a trillion dollars with no results.  And the media and Republican leadership continue to allow him to get away with it.

Barack Hussein Obama is destroying America.

What would the board of directors do with a president of a company who failed as much as Obama has failed over a two year time period?

It would fire him.

What would a competing company do to a company who is as dysfunctional as Obama and the Democrats?

The competing company would steal all of the dysfunctional company’s customers and put it out of business.

So why are Republicans not putting Obama out of business?  RINOs are snatching defeat from the jaws of the Tea Party victories.

The USA government needs to cut spending and help the private sector increase jobs all at the same time.  It can do that if it stops spending so much money on services and starts spending money on products made in the USA with American made sub components that have long supply chains.  That will stimulate the economy with a manufacturing multiplier effect that cannot be achieved by spending on services.

The services that need to be cut are government employees … cut their pay.  A 5% cut (government employees already get paid much more than private sector) would save $100 Billion.

As Rand Paul says:  Let’s cut $500 Billion now (15% of the budget).  Then cut the budget back to 2008 levels for 2012.  And we can start by eliminating the Federal Department of Education ($80 Billion).  Because education is the responsibility and authority of the states, the Federal Department of Education is redundant with the states and should be eliminated.   All redundant federal departments should be eliminated.

It is obvious that the media, including O’Reilly, and RINOs like McCain, Boehner, Cantor, and McCarthy are trying to prop up Obama.  They made another deal.  And taxpaying Americans will suffer because of their “deal.”

Why?

We keep hearing from all the media, especially O’Reilly this week, that Obama is so smart.  If Obama is so smart, then why is he hiding his college applications and transcripts?

Someone needs to tell it like it is:  Obama failed.  Obama is not so smart.  And he lacks business understanding and experience.

Rather than prop him up, Republicans and the media should make Obama sit out the remainder of his contract in his office like so many other presidents who fail must do … and they should not allow Obama to take credit for fixing the problems that he caused.

Obama had two years.  It is time to move him aside… make him irrelevant … as any sane business would do.  Republican leadership doesn’t seem to have the courage to do it.  So who will do it before Obama causes more destruction to America?

Letter About Obama Citizenship By Michael Master

Letter About Obama Citizenship By Michael Master

Open Letter to:
Congressman John Boehner
Congressman Eric Cantor
Congressman Frank Wolf
US House of Representatives
Washington, DC January 24, 2011

Dear Sirs,

We the people elected you Republicans to be the controlling party of the US House of Representatives last Nov, 2010 to hold the Democrats and Barack Hussein Obama accountable. The Democrat controlled House of 2008 did not vet Mr. Obama. After promising to be “transparent,” Obama was allowed by the Democrat House of 2008 to not be “transparent” about being a “natural born” citizen. The 2008 House did not vet him.

Your most current comments about this are very disturbing. Are you going to vet him? The president of the United States must be a natural born citizen to qualify to be president. The ways to lose natural born citizenship status are detailed in 8 USC 1481. One way is becoming naturalized in another country.

Are you going to inspect his long form birth certificate, his college applications, and his previous passports? Do any of those documents show him to have a dual or foreign citizenship that would have caused him to have lost his natural born status? Almost 2/3 of America think that there is something wrong with his citizenship. So are you going to vet him to put this issue to rest?

You took an oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. So are you going to do that concerning the “natural born” status of Barack Hussein Obama (Barry Soetoro)?

Please read the last line of the Declaration of Independence. It states:

with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our fortunes and our sacred Honor.

Are you willing to risk your lives, your fortunes, and your sacred honor to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States? Are you willing to risk your families?

This letter is being copied to America so that everyone will be watching you to see if you walk the walk or just talk the talk?

Lindsay Graham is Wrong Again! By Michael Master

Lindsay Graham is Wrong Again! By Michael Master

Lindsay Graham appeared on TV the other day and suggested that Social Security benefits need to be cut to keep it solvent.

Once again, Lindsay is wrong.

Government spent the money from Social Security on stuff other than the retirements of those who contributed. Now the Social Security savings are gone. The government spent our savings when it used Social Security for other projects.

The federal government used a little noticed line in the legislation to use the Social Security Trust Fund for things other than payments to the contributor.  The government raided the fund.  LBJ and the Democrat Congress of the 1960s were the first to raid it.  They used it to finance the Great Society since most other funds were being used by LBJ for his Viet Nam War.  That act of theft from Social Security funds has been duplicated by almost every administration since LBJ.

The Social Security System morphed from an annuity program to a ponzi scheme where the current generation of workers pays the retirement benefits for the current retirees.  And since the baby boomers did not have enough children to replace themselves, the decreasing number of workers per retirees must pay more into the fund or it will operate at a deficit.  Therefore, the Social Security Trust fund is close to insolvent today and the solution proposed by the government is too cut back on the benefits to retirees.  The Social Security program became just another tax on people to finance other government programs.

  1.  Politicians and economists are discussing how benefits need to be cut back for retirees in order to keep Social Security solvent.  That is not true.  Look at the wages for government employees and the number of them.  Since government employees make 30% more than their counterparts in the private sector, their compensations can be cut to more than offset the deficits in the Social Security trust.  The Federal Government stole the money from our pensions in the Social Security Trust and used it for political projects, so the federal government needs to figure out how to pay it back.  And one way is to cut government employee compensation. A five percent cut to all government workers would provide the $30 Billion per year to keep Social Security solvent with no reductions to benefits to retirees.
  2. All legislation, especially legislation like Obamacare, must be inspected closely to make sure that there are no imbedded taxes and imbedded rules that will hurt America in the future like how politicians used the Social Security funds.
