TRUE DEMOCRACY

For the past several weeks legislators in Washington, D.C. have been undergoing a
highly intense “emotional melt-down” with regard to the issue of health reform.
Legislators appear to be in a proverbial “CATCH 22” position in their constituencies.
Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi and President Barrack Obama have been blatantly
abusing their power, positions and authority, while behaving like a couple of “Bureaucratic
Bullies”, in order to achieve their political agenda of pushing ObamaCare through despite
extreme opposition and resistance from Democrats and Republicans alike.
Bullying is frowned upon in our school systems and throughout society and is a very
underhanded, aversive tactic to get what you want in the world. Similarly, in the political
arena, “Bureaucratic Bullying” in an attempt to “FORCE-FEED” ObamaCare down the
throats of every red-blooded American Citizen, is equally offensive, unwarranted and
simply unacceptable. This kind of defiant, adolescent behavior should not be tolerated
at any level of society, let alone at our nation’s capitol.
The leaders of our great nation must be held accountable for their actions. They have
a responsibility and moral obligation to honor and uphold the U.S. Constitution, while
serving in their duly-elected political positions. Any actions and intentions to the contrary
should be exposed, rebuked and held in contempt by America’s citizens.
Furthermore, America’s leaders should act with dignity, decency, self-control and show
due respect to others with opposing points of view. Everyone is unique and entitled to
their own opinions, afterall, that’s what makes America, America.
Democracy ceases to be Democracy when it’s coerced and dictated. True Democracy,
the Democracy of the America I know and love, embraces and respects the differences
among individuals. True Democracy also allows and encourages issues to be discussed,
debated, legislated and negotiated. Historically True Democracy requires a Bi-Partisan
vote in both the House and the Senate. Misguided attempts to deliberately alter, overlook
and fail to comply with the designated number of votes required for a bill to pass, is
arrogant, dishonest, unconstitutional and unbecoming of the current administration as well
as the U.S. Congress.
Political bribes, personal threats and coercion serve to defy and dismantle the delicate
foundation of True Democracy and should never, ever be tolerated by America’s citizens.
ObamaCare is the highly controversial legislative health issue at hand. The time for
complacency has long passed. Speak Out America!! Your voices have a right to be heard.
True Democracy is the answer. Don’t let America die!.
