Attending the Trump Tower meeting was Trump Jr., then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. British music publicist Rob Goldstone, Veselnitskaya, Russian-American lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin, translator Anatoli Samochornov and Ike Kaveladze, who works for the Russian oligarch who initiated the meeting, were also there.
The June meeting is now an area of inquiry in Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into whether anyone from the Trump campaign colluded with Russians to influence the election. Multiple committees on Capitol Hill are also investigating the meeting and interviewing key players.
In a footnote to the letter, the government attorneys signaled the June meeting may be grounds for denying future visa requests.

A baseless rumor that Jared Kushner had scrubbed his Twitter account was circulated in the wake of Paul Manafort’s indictment.

Mueller could use the Manafort indictment to pry into the Trump Jr. meeting.

Paul Manafort, President Trump’s former campaign chairman, surrendered to federal authorities Monday after being indicted on 12 charges related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election. Manafort’s charges include money laundering and tax fraud, but do not concern any actions specifically related to his time at the helm of Trump’s winning campaign.

The Russian lawyer who set up a meeting with Donald Trump Jr. at Trump Tower to dish dirt on Hillary Clinton discussed her talking points with one of the Kremlin’s most powerful officials before the sitdown, a new report said Friday.
