Obama is a disaster which is about to get worse.   Hidden Inflation, too low of interest rates, super high deficits, and accelerated growth to government with no results at helping the economy are about to take a massive toll on America.

Kiplinger Letter stated that this is the slowest recovery to any recession since 1932.  If nothing else, Obama owns the failure of this recovery.  

According to the statistics presented in USA Today of May 31, 2011, Obama is ineffective in leading America out of this recession.  These are the statistics compared to other recessions at the same point in time as this one:

Decreased housing demand started the recession and housing demand continues to be falling.   What will happen to housing when interest rates are increased?  This economy is due for more problems because of Obama’s failure to fix its problems.

These are comments from economists in Kiplinger Magazine of June, 2011:

Mark Zupan (Economist and Dean of the School of Business at the University of Rochester):  “Easy money is the big risk …. The root cause of the coming inflation is the Federal Reserve’s easy-money policy in support of the Federal government’s stimulus efforts. Rising government spending has been rapidly swelling our debt (now more than $14 Trillion).  And the Fed’s actions erode the dollar’s purchasing power, which means imports become more expensive. In addition, with more dollars now chasing fewer goods and services, the prices for those goods and services have begun to rise.  Based on producer-price increases registered so far this year, we could see consumer prices increasing at a 6+% clip late this year…Some people say that inflation is not a risk because of slack employment and because the consumer price index has been rising only modestly.  However, the core CPI excludes food and energy.”

Michael Dueker (former research economist at the Federal Reserve Bank):  “Too much money chasing too few goods is the classic recipe for inflation.   And one ingredient is already here – the $2.2 trillion in stimulus money pumped into the economy by the Federal Reserve….  The Fed will rein in cash to head off inflation. “

Jeremy J. Siegel (professor at University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School):  “One of the biggest threats facing investors is the possibility that massive US budget deficits and the Federal Reserve’s easy monetary policy will lead to significant inflation…  Although stocks do well when annual inflation is in the range of 2% to 5%, their performance begins to falter when inflation exceeds 5%…inflation sparks higher interest rates, and  interest rates are a key variable in calculating current stock prices…Companies can’t always pass along increased costs, especially in the case of an important raw material such as oil.  As a result, many companies will see their profits squeezed.  Stock prices also falter in the face of rising inflation because investors fear that the Fed will hike interest rates.”

Stock prices are increasing because of low interest rates.  The GDP is increasing because of inflation.  Neither one is increasing because of more manufacturing output or a stronger economy.  Current GDP growth is less than 2% which is less than the real rate of inflation.  The combination of these variables will cause this house of cards by this current administration to implode on itself. 

Obama is destroying America.  His deficits, bailouts, and too low interest rates cannot solve the root cause problems to our economy.  His actions are about to exacerbate these root causes to our problems: 

1.  A Low birth rate to white people from 40 years ago is causing decreased demand for housing today and causing decreased demand for ancillary products of housing like furniture and appliances.  That low birth rate is also the reason for insolvency of Social Security and Medicare.   
2.  High union labor rates, high taxes rolled up through the manufacturing supply chain, and a lack of engineering graduates is chasing manufacturing out of the USA.
3. The lack of oil drilling is causing an economic cash drain from the USA and causing high energy costs.
4. Current tax rates, educators, entertainment, abortion laws, and social mores are encouraging young adults to marry later, have too few children, and purchase fewer homes/home furnishings than previous generations at the same ages.   

If interest rates increase, what will happen to 401Ks, to the housing market, and to the general economy?  Just look at what happened when Jimmy Carter was president.   The combination of high interest rates and high inflation killed the economy.  Unemployment exceeded 12% and all forms of assets lost value, especially real estate.

So what is Obama doing to correct these root cause issues?  Nothing.  He does not know what to do.   He is a puppet of Wall Street (especially Goldman Sacks … Bernanke) who gave him a million dollars for his 2008 campaign, a puppet of insurance companies (who wanted Obamacare, especially AARP) who gave him twenty million dollars, and a puppet of unions (who are exempt from Obamacare … especially teachers’ unions).

Wall Street has been making a fortune from the easy Fed money and too low of interest rates as stock prices become more inflated than what company earnings can justify.

Obama let it all happen.   He fertilized the root causes to our problems rather than kill them.  He is either incompetent or corrupt or both.

Obama lacks the needed executive and business experience to be president of the USA.   He lacks a moral compass.  He is a community organizer.

Obama needs to go so we can save America from the problems that he has fertilized.

Joplin, Missouri is my “big city.” Less than 30 minutes away it has all the conveniences of any average city of 50,000 people. However on any given day that number swells to almost double since nearly 45,000 people pull off of major Interstate I-44 to gas up, eat in any number of fast food or chain restaurants up and down Rangeline Road or shop at the Northpark mall or any number of specialty shops. The interstate is the demarkation point on the south side of town and Rangeline is a major thoroughfare to the mall and Missouri Southern State University on the north side of town. 

I’m really familiar with Joplin and know a lot of people there because during the years 2000 to 2004, I was the Director of Sales and Marketing for a major convention hotel located just off the Interstate. I served the community as Chairman of the Advisory Board for the Joplin Visitors and Convention Bureau and as Vice President of Soroptimists International of Joplin. Fred and I still do our main shopping there and whenever we pass St. John’s hospital I think about my mom who passed away in 2007. I spent many hours in the emergency room and hospital rooms with mom in the last years of her decline. 

I’m telling you this because I felt compelled to say something about the terrible disaster that hit Joplin a week and a day ago. Fred was notified immediately when the tornado hit because he’s close to the law enforcement community serving as Director of Security for the Quapaw tribe’s Indian casino and former Undersheriff for our county. So as the horrific aftermath of the tragedy played out he kept me informed. 

As many of you know, help came from everywhere to assist. It was utter chaos and communications between the responding city, county, and states with Joplin Police, Fire and Rescue did not flow which was one of the biggest problems in the moments, hours and even days after the tornado. Fred tells me that the Joplin police department has a microwave-type communication system. It’s a good system that comes in very clear and the secure channel isn’t listened-in on by the public with police scanners but that meant emergency, fire, police, sheriff, volunteers and first responders from other areas with traditional radio systems couldn’t communicate with Joplin which was the Command Center. But police, rescue and national guard performed heroic measures responding to Joplin in their hour of need. They actually ended up using “runners” like in ancient times to relay messages. It was not a way to find out weaknesses but a lesson learned for Joplin. Perhaps others will seriously look at the information that comes out of the de-briefing meetings that will surely come in time. An example of the result of communication challenges turned up a man hospitalized in the makeshift MASH-style facility at Memorial Hall was earlier identified as dead in a temporary morgue. 

The makeshift morgue was set up on the outskirts of town. A warehouse was filled with several refrigerated trucks where professionals could perform the gruesome work of identifying human remains some intact some merely pieces of flesh. Police were posted on the road leading to the morgue tasked with the responsibility of keeping curiosity-seekers out especially news media. That included CNN but when they were stopped on the road by the two police officers and told to turn off their cameras and turn around, they threw a hissy fit and reporter Gary Tuchman speaking to Anderson Cooper sensationalized the incident by reporting “strange things going on,” and a “secret morgue that no one will talk about.” Tuchman goes on to say that “even the families don’t know where it is” and “they’re afraid to talk about if for fear of getting in trouble.”

The nation and the world is turning out for Joplin. Businesses and churches have already started rebuilding. It’s said that Joplin is the buckle of the “bible belt” and I agree. The long time residents of the 4-state area of  Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas are mostly white, conservative and christian so when Obama turned his back on Joplin and continued his european vacation we didn’t care because we knew how he really feels about us. In fact when many of us heard he would be in Joplin on sunday a week later for Memorial Day we wanted to have nothing to do with his visit. Even the press pointed out that he had little political equity to be gained here. 

I wanted to go to boo him and bring protest signs. That’s what I wanted to do when I first heard he was coming but Fred said it wasn’t the time or place. I wondered where Obama would speak to the people of Joplin. Would it be on a portable stage surrounded by victims and rescuers overlooking devastation as far as the eye could see? Perhaps by St. Mary’s church mostly destroyed except for the cross that remained intact and steadfastly shining against the clear blue sky after the tornado passed. 

I curiously wondered but when I found out what he ended up doing I was so angry I had to write this piece. Obama insulated himself from the community. His appearance was carefully staged and orchestrated. It was held indoors at MSSU, Missouri Southern State University, where he could use his teleprompters. His audience was comprised of students and faculty which is to be expected but when I learned who else was there the hair on the back of my neck stood up. 

MSSU had set up a Volunteer Resource Center staffed by AmeriCorps. Yes, former ACORN employees, now paid members of the homeland security “professional civilian corps,”—Obama’s Brownshirts. 

Word was out also that the Westboro cult would be in Joplin to protest the memorial service. Alan, our son, had suggested taking air horns to blast in the faces and ears of  the cult members that showed up. Fred was in Joplin early on Sunday and called me to say there were hundreds and hundreds of motorcycles in town and they were gathering at the Sears parking lot at the mall which is one block away from MSSU. We found out later that there were over 300 bikers that came as a result of word-of-mouth alerts and spread by truckers over their CB’s.

A Jewish Answer to President Obama

President Obama,

In your speech to the people of the Middle East, you referred time and again to the principle of liberty. It is on this principle that you aim to base US policy in our region; a region that you rightly defined as the cradle of human culture.

Your words reflected your understanding that it is not only humanity’s past that is bound up with this area, but its future, as well. The instability in the Middle East generates great danger for humanity, perhaps the greatest danger since World War II. The fate of humanity is inextricably linked to the expanse upon which Abraham, our forefather, started out on his trek to human liberty. As such, America’s attempt to stabilize our region on the foundation of these values is commendable.

Yes, the Nation of Israel and the American nation share very deep values. But as you mentioned, these shared values must not prevent us from telling the truth. And the truth, as every Christian and Moslem well knows, is that the entire Land of Israel belongs exclusively to the Nation of Israel. The Creator promised it time and again to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – to them and their descendants.

The simple truth is that there is not a “Palestinian nation” and there never has been. Under every stone that you turn over in the Promised Land, you will find remnants of the history of the Nation chosen by the Creator to proclaim His message of liberty. In no place in the Holy Land will you find “Palestinian” history, simply because it does not and never did exist.

If liberty is truly what you want for the nations in our region, you must understand that genuine liberty cannot be founded on falsehood. There is truth, with which most Americans identify and which they sense; and there is falsehood, which they abhor. There is good to which the unique American nation wishes to cling, and there is evil, which it wishes to eliminate.

The American nation did not hesitate to dance in the streets when the evil Bin Laden was eliminated. Values like peace and liberty cannot thrive on a foundation of falsehood and surrender to evil. He who desires these values must be capable of clinging to the truth, and if necessary, of fighting evil.

You demand of the Nation of the Bible, of the nation chosen by G-d from amongst all the nations, the nation to which G-d gave the Land of Israel from which to proclaim liberty to the entire world – to retreat from the heartland of the Promised Land. You demand that we leave the proclamation that is supposed to emerge from Zion in the hands of those who invented the suicide bomber! In the hands of those who went out to celebrate in the streets when Bin Laden destroyed the Twin Towers! In the hands of a culture that sanctifies death!

Do you honestly believe that this is what will bring peace to the world?

Please note, Mr. Obama, that before we, the Israelis, succumbed to American pressure and recognized the Arab demands on the Land of Israel in the Oslo Accords, the world had never heard of a suicide bomber. From the moment that this culture of death got a foothold in Jerusalem – the genie was out of the bottle. There, on the White House lawn, the fate of the Twin Towers was sealed.

How then, should the free world relate to the situation in the Middle East?

The attempt to suture democracy to Islamic Arab culture has led to a horrifying trail of blood and has accelerated the economic downturn in your country. Wouldn’t it be wise to learn this lesson before another attempt to duplicate it with the rest of the Arab nations? Why do you think that what was a resounding failure in Iraq will succeed with the other Arab nations, whose Islamic culture is diametrically opposed to the values of liberty?

We must make an honest attempt to understand the significance of the events and changes in the Middle East, to admit the truth to ourselves and to act in accordance with reality – and not with wishful thinking.

Yes, the popular uprisings in the Arab countries have engendered amazement and global sympathy. But historical precedent and the reality on the ground show that this process will likely result in an outcome completely opposite to what you are trying to effectuate. The revolution that brought Khomeini to power in Iran also began with freedom-seeking young people, and we all saw how that culminated. Today, as well, we can clearly sense where the current revolution in Egypt is leading. It is steering Egypt to more religious extremism, to the undermining of the peace accords, to mass demonstrations of hatred outside the Israeli embassy, to the empowerment of the Moslem Brotherhood and Islamic fundamentalism – that all have nothing to do with the values of liberty.

All the revolutions taking place now in Arab states are missing the main actor – the alternative. There is no Khomeini waiting in Paris to take the reins of government, as there was thirty years ago in Iran. All the current revolutions aim to overthrow the existing regime, but offer no alternative regime. If elections do take place there, it is completely clear that they will be a one time affair, because the winners will be the most extreme Moslem factors.

It is very likely, Mr. Obama, that we are not witnessing an Arab spring. It is more reasonable to assume that we are witnessing the disintegration of the Arab nation-states. The modern structure of nation-state that was forced upon the nations of the region by the powers that won World War I never really fit with Islamic culture. It could very well be that our region is simply returning to its natural structure; a tribal Moslem expanse – Dar al Islam as they define it, instead of the national political expanse that the Western nations attempted to create for it.

The vacuum that is being created is an irresistible enticement for rulers like Ahmadinijad. The modern-day Hitler is already planning the new Islamic caliphate that will stretch under his control from the Euphrates to the Nile, including the Land that G-d promised to Abraham.

Mr. Obama, there is no chance that with your approach, the United States will be able to stop this process. With the course that you are leading, the free world will rapidly find itself facing an Iranian Middle East. From this horror scenario, it is just a short distance to a terrible war that will encompass the entire world. You may want peace, but I regret to tell you that just like Chamberlain, you are also pushing the world down a slippery slope to the most horrifying of wars.

Only a significant force that will extend its influence over the area, motivated by a set of values opposite to those that Iran is attempting to dictate; only an entity that is here to stay and not to flee after another failed attempt at Arab democracy – can save the free world from this nightmare.

There is a force like that in the Middle East. There is a nation in the region that is here for eternity; a nation that miraculously returned to its Land after 2000 years of exile; precisely as our G-d promised in His Torah – and our prophets – throughout the Bible.

Israel’s tremendous contribution to humanity; its contribution of values, technology and security – is immeasurable. Israel is the strongest power in the Middle East – economically, militarily and most importantly – ethically, Israel is the most just and strong.

So, Mr. Obama, before you pressure Israel to relinquish the Promised Land to the Arabs, it is important for you to look at the wondrous Jewish history and to understand that if the US wants to succeed, it must stand at Israel’s side. The flip side of that is that every action that opposes the Creator’s promise to His Nation – will bring about catastrophe.

“And I will bless those who bless you,” said the Creator to Abraham. This is the secret of America’s success to date. “And those who curse you I will curse,” G-d adds and warns.

The Creator’s promise to His Nation will be completely fulfilled – and we will yet see the Holy Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem – there is no doubt about that.

All that is left is for me to bless your nation: May you be wise enough not to pressure Israel. May you free our brother, Jonathan Pollard, who has been imprisoned in your country for half a Jubilee. And in the future, may you stand on the blessed side of G-d’s promise to Abraham.
