Never have I been more disgusted than when Walt’s trial started yesterday. As I scanned those in attendance, all 20 of them, I could make out about 10 with local law enforcement and another 4 curious locals sitting with them, all on one side of the courtroom. The other side of the room (Walt’s side) had approximately 6, not including a local reporter. Those 6 were all either neighbors of Walt or other locals there to watch the circus. Several more curious people came and left during the course of the trial that lasted from 900 until 1706 hrs. Not one of the so called “Patriots” in TN or surrounding states could bother to show up and be Walt’s moral support.., not one.
I sat at Walt’s side throughout the day long ordeal only leaving him to catch a quick smoke during several breaks. He knew the jury was, once again, stacked. He knew they would mock him at every opportunity and they did but he is a man of courage and conviction, a man I was proud to stand by as he, not being a savvy legal mind, put up a gallant fight. At the end of it all the results were:
Count 1: Resisting arrest— guilty
Count 2: Assault on a Police Officer—mis-trial (8 guilty and 4 not guilty with no chance to resolve as per the Foreman)
(Count numbers could be reversed but, at this point, it’s a minor detail)
Sentencing was scheduled for Sept. 23rd and the fat ass DA (Stutts) stated he would consider re-trying Walt on the Assault charge.
Walt was shaken but not beaten. Tired but knows the fight continues. Grateful I showed but discouraged others did not (this is the part that is hard for me to swallow).
A man of honor and courage who has never backed down in the face of adversity. A decorated soldier, standing there, steadfast in the belief he is fighting a battle much bigger than himself. A man I will always admire and support.
The blow by blow will be posted on ThePostEmail.com and it will take a little time for me to figure out why this country now breeds a nation of PINOS (Patriots in name only) so self serving and self absorbed they cannot get off their lazy asses and get engaged in helping themselves and their fellow man. Especially one who served nobly for 25 years to protect the few remaining freedoms the rest enjoy. Yeah, I’m flat out disgusted.
