A Republican congressman who is running for retiring Kansas Senator Sam Brownback’s seat says the radical policies of President Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress have been a wake-up call for the American people, who appear ready to elect Republicans this fall.

The results of a recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll do not bode well for Democrats this fall. It finds that the so-called “independent” voters credited with helping the Democrats take control of Congress in 2006 have switched their allegiance to the GOP.

The survey shows 38 percent of self-described independents said they would vote for Republicans in November, compared to 30 percent who are for Democrats.
